Andy Martin calls Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times a bigot for using bigotry to support Barack Obama

Andy Martin says that under widely accepted tenets of Islam, Obama was born into the Muslim faith. When Obama formally became a Christian through Holy Baptism, as Obama claims, is not clear.

OBAMA AUTHOR ANDY MARTIN ATTACKED FOR PUBLISHING THE TRUTH ABOUT BARACK OBAMA

NEW YORK TIMES COLUMNIST NICHOLAS KRISTOF TRIES TO REWRITE BARACK OBAMA'S RELIGIOUS HISTORY

KRISTOF'S AGITPROP SEEKS TO ATTACK AMERICANS FOR ASKING LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS ABOUT OBAMA'S RELIGION THAT THE CANDIDATE HAS DESPERATELY TRIED TO CONCEAL

(NEW YORK)(September 22, 2008) Four years ago I wrote the first worldwide column exposing Barack Obama as a liar and exposing his family's Muslim heritage. My initial column is still one of the most Googled references on the Internet. My columns eventually culminated in a bestselling book: Obama: the Man Behind the Mask (http://OrangeStatePress.com). Although I was the first to use the "mask" analogy in my original Psychological Profile of Barack Obama, that trope has been widely adopted. Competing authors have also copied the "mask" phraseology.

Yesterday, New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof called me "sleazy" and "disgusting." I have news for Mr. Kristof: it is his writing that his sleazy and disgusting. His agitprop on behalf of Obama is a disgrace to journalism. At the risk of popularizing someone with whom I have had my differences, Sean Hannity of Fox News has said 2008 is the year when "journalism died in America." Here's another example, Sean.

Truth, facts and integrity have certainly died at the New York Times.

Mr. Kristof also accused me of being a closet racist who is using Obama's religion as a "proxy for racial prejudice." On the contrary, all I have ever done is, to use Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro's classic put down, hold Barack Obama to the same standard as a white man. To accuse me of being "profoundly un-American" because I have consistently published the truth about Obama is disgraceful behavior and an example of how far the extreme left will go to demonize my research. My original columns, of course, were the basis for other bestselling books as well as my own.

First, a comment about Mr. Obama's Christianity. Here I may owe my readers a small apology. I was prepared to give Barack Obama the benefit of the doubt that he was a "Christian" based on his attendance at Trinity United Church of Christ ("UCC"); that may have been a mistake on my part. I gave Obama the benefit of the doubt before the disks in the Trinity UCC gift shop became a worldwide scandal and we heard the racist ranting of Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Frankly, I was shocked that at a church where a large portion of Chicago's African-American aristocracy worshiped, such vicious anti-white and anti-American propaganda would masquerade as "Christianity." Of course, today Trinity takes a "Who me?" attitude to this egregious history of racism and subversion. Apparently no one who is anyone in Chicago ever heard Reverend Wright preach except Oprah Winfrey, and she left.

Although Barack Obama calls himself a Christian, we do not know when he officially became one, and when he ended his flirtation with the Nation of Islam (another scoop which I released earlier this year). In my own Episcopal Church where I worship today, we keep detailed baptismal records.

Some years ago I lost my wallet and I had to reestablish my identity. I went back to the church where I was baptized, St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain, Connecticut. St George's still had my baptismal file in the church records. They gave me a copy. (I later joined my father's church, the Anglican [Episcopal] denomination).

I have no idea what the UCC maintains in the way of baptismal records, if any, but this I do know. We have never seen a baptismal certificate for Barack Obama and we do not have an actual date when he was baptized. Maybe Mr. Kristof can provide one. We have not seen a valid Obama birth certificate either. Maybe Kristof can provide that as well. Obama asks us to take his Christianity "on faith." I have no faith in Obama's integrity or truthfulness.

Barack Obama has the same rights as I do in this country. He is free to believe what he wants, and to worship where he wants, and no one can tell him otherwise. But the history of where he was baptized, and when, and what his parents and grandparents' religion was, are objective facts. (If you read my book you will find that Obama lies repeatedly and relentlessly about his family history, so the obfuscation over his Islamic heritage is part and parcel of his confused character and relentless concealment.)

The American people often trace family lineage back hundreds of years, which is why we have been told that Obama and Vice President Cheney are "cousins." Can we at least trace back Obama's religious traditions only two generations without being accused of bigotry? Don’t we have a right to do so without being demonized by the New York Times?

Now to the Muslim issue.

Obama's family history in the Muslim faith may be a large issue, as some believe, or it may be a very small issue, as others believe, or it may be a non-issue as liberals believe. But it is a legitimate topic of discussion and a bona fide area of scholarly research. The fact is, Obama has brutally attacked anyone who told the truth about his Muslim heritage, and relentlessly lied about his Islamic family.

I believe Obama has yet to face his own confused state of mind about his religious origins. Moreover, I believe that Americans are entitled to the truth, the full truth and nothing but the truth from Senator Obama; to date they have not received those disclosures. Issue? Non-issue? Each of us can draw our own conclusions once we have the undisputed facts. That is the way our society usually functions. Or as Dragnet's Sergeant Joe Friday would say, "Just the facts, ma'am."

Obama's mother married two, not one, Muslim men.

There does not appear to have been a mosque in Hawaii at the time when Obama's father lived there, so we do not know what he would have done had there been a Muslim facility.

We do know that Obama's stepfather occasionally took Obama and his sister to a mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia. We also know that Obama was registered as a Muslim at one of the schools he attended in Jakarta. There is no evidence—nor has Obama ever cited any-that his "atheistic" mother objected to his being classified as a Muslim while Barry (Barack) was living in Indonesia.

As I have stated before, there is nothing suspicious or unusual about parents choosing a religion for their children. Almost all parents choose the initial religion of their children, or no religion. My parents initially chose to have me baptized in the Greek Orthodox Church, which I attended and where I was a very devoted altar boy. Later as an adult I transferred my membership to the Episcopal Church of my father and grandfather. There is nothing secret about any of this, and I have nothing to hide. (One of my grandmothers was Roman Catholic.)

Some religions transfer their heritage through the mother. In Judaism, for example, the Jewish religious tradition is handed down through the mother. In the Muslim religion, however, which often tracks Judaism and Christianity, but not in this case, the father hands down the family's religion.

Thus, at birth, by virtue of Obama's Muslim father, Barack Obama, Junior received the same Islamic faith as his Kenyan father. The Kenyan wing of Obama's family is almost all Muslim. Even the woman Obama falsely calls his "granny" was quoted as stating she is a devoted Muslim. If everyone in your family is a Muslim, it is a fair conclusion that you began life as a Muslim. What is Mr. Kristof's problem with the foregoing facts?

Is there widespread confusion about Obama's religion? Indeed there is. Why is that? First, the fact Obama's father was a Muslim raises the obvious point that as a result of the tenets of some Muslims his son also began life as a Muslim.

Some months ago there was a dispute in the New York Times when another writer made my points, and the Times promptly produced Muslim scholars to oppose the patrilineal passage of Islam from a father to his children. There was also a dispute about whether the Islamic faith has a "Once a Muslim, always Muslim" doctrine. Indeed, Islam is no more monolithic a religion than Christianity. Sects, denominations and even nations disagree about the "true" nature of Islam. But the fact that Christians disagree does not convert their disagreements into a negation of Christianity. Likewise, the fact that some Muslims disagree with the "Once a Muslim, Always a Muslim" doctrine does not mean that hundreds of millions of Muslims do not follow that belief. They do. It's a fact. People have recently been threatened with death for announcing a desire to leave the Muslim religion.

The first time Obama left home, when he attended college at Occidental College in Los Angeles, he gravitated to a circle of Muslim friends. While this Muslim circle is nothing sinister, it is another small piece of circumstantial evidence concerning Obama's religious state of mind. Boy leaves home and heads straight for the Muslim community on campus. Well.

And how about this? I take a contrarian point of view on the Middle East where my columns have defended Islam and challenged American policy. As a result, I have many readers throughout the Islamic world. When I began to criticize Obama, some of my followers wrote me and said "Shhh. He's one of us." Thus, many Muslims believe Obama is a Muslim. That' a fact.

Obama could have avoided all of this confusion if he had simply told the truth years ago. For some reason Barack fears the truth. No one had had to "Otherize" him as Kristof suggests. Obama "Otherizes" himself. For the reasons stated in my Psychological Profile, Obama does not like to tell the truth. He has lived the better part of his life in a fantasy world, and it is into that fantasyland that he retreats when he must deal with confusion and confrontation. In "Obamaland," "Barry Obama" was never a Muslim.

Kristof says that people are interested in Obama's religious history because we are using religion as a "proxy" for racism. That is a despicable suggestion. I don't know about Kristof but I have a publicly documented lifetime of work on behalf of civil rights, and a worldwide reputation for standing by Islam and condemning religious demonization. The only bigot in the room is Kristof, because he seeks to use bigotry and a subterfuge for Obama's psychological confusion and evasion.

Kristof's final slander is to claim some false sense of honor because he contributed to the confusion over Obama's religious history. Kristof previously wrote about Obama's singing the Islamic call to prayer in Arabic. On Sunday, September 21st, Kristof tried to impeach himself. He claimed that Obama could remember this prayer because "the call to prayer blasts from mosque loudspeakers five times a day." I have lived in Muslim lands, and I would hasten to say that very little that originates with the muezzin can be heard at a distance. Obama must have lived very close to a mosque if he was able to decipher the call to prayer so clearly and after the passage of forty (40) years as Kristof now suggests.

Kristof closes his smears by accusing scholars/writers such as myself of "calculating to undermine the political process" and "magnifying the ugliest prejudices." On the contrary, it is Obama, who has repeatedly and relentlessly lied about his religious history, and fellow travelers such as Kristof, who are doing so much to undermine our democratic institutions by seeking to substitute a big lie for the truth in this election campaign.

I stand by my facts. And I stand by the truth. It would be nice if Kristof and Obama would do likewise.

Barack Obama’s “Manchurian Surrogate,” Danielle Allen, surfaces again

OBAMA AUTHOR ANDY MARTIN EXPOSES NEW TRICKS AND TRIBULATIONS BY THE WASHINGTON POST

PSEUDO-“SCHOLAR” DANIELLE ALLEN RIDES AGAIN, THIS TIME TRYING TO UNDO CENTURIES OF FREE SPEECH

IS THE WASHINGTON POST GROOMING AN INCOMPETENT OBAMA “FRONT,” ALLEN, AS A CREDIBLE SOURCE IN AN EFFORT TO UNDERMINE THE INTERNET?
(NEW YORK)(July 10, 2008) Danielle Allen, Senator Barack Obama’s pseudo-“scholar” and campaign hatchet-girl, has surfaced again. This time she wants to repeal the U. S. Constitution to protect Obama. Will wonders never cease? And the moribund print media, in the face of the Washington Post, are using Allen as a “front” to further their own agenda of discrediting the Internet as a competing source of information. Affirmative action, anyone?
For those just joining the controversy, on June 28th Danielle Allen suddenly appeared, “out of the ether” to use the Post’s own phrase, claiming to be a “political expert” and being presented by the Washington Post (WP) as “razor-sharp.” It turned out Allen was a distinctly dull blade. The WP neglected to disclose Allen was an Obama campaign operative.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/27/AR2008062703781.html
I expressed surprise at how and why Allen had surfaced. Her sudden appearance looked very suspicious. On further inquiry, I documented she was indeed a suspicious character. Allen and I conducted a very civilized e-mail correspondence, up to a point. When I started asking probing questions about her links to the Obama campaign, she went silent. [I will try to remember to post my unanswered questions to Allen.]
The WP lied about Allen’s status, concealed her agenda, and presented a misleading picture of a legitimate campaign issue: how were voters dealing with Barack Obama’s family roots in the Islamic religion?
Today, July 10th, Allen surfaces again, baring her true agenda and telling us something abut the malign agenda of the Obama campaign: to stamp out anonymous speech on the Internet. Anti-Obama anonymous speech. I realize that affirmative action has deep roots in the academic community. Universities have resisted removing quotas for students and faculty. But do we simply accept unqualified opinions on the pages of the Washington Post, without asking why someone manifestly incompetent is being promoted into the status of a commentator?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/09/AR2008070901937.html?hpid=opinionsbox1
Does Allen have any qualifications to be a “scholar” in the political arena, or is she just what I have called her, a “Manchurian Surrogate?”
Allen argues that we should create a new category of speech, “calumny.” What is calumny, and what is not, would be determined by Barack Obama and Obama alone. Obama day-by-day takes on the increasing pretensions of his doppelganger, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe. The Big Baba Obama finds any criticism of his views, any analysis of his flip-flops, any challenge to his entitlement to live in the White House and any searching inquiry into his fanciful and fabricated family history, to be verboten. [I am trying to use as any foreign words as possible in this column, because Big Baba has demanded we all become multilingual. And who can argue with Obama? Not the mainstream media (“MSM”). He’s their man.]
There is only one problem with Danielle Allen and the Washington Post. She is utterly and completely incompetent to express intelligent opinions in the political arena, because she has no idea what she is talking about. She is either too stupid or too biased or—heaven forefend—too arrogant to make basic inquiries about the United States Constitution and U. S. Supreme court precedent before popping and tooting. Some scholar, she.
Allen says she wants to outlaw anonymous speech on the Internet as prohibited “calumny.”
There is only one problem with her ridiculous suggestion that we ban anonymous speech. The U. S. Supreme Court has expressly and repeatedly rejected such nonsense. Even the most conservative member of the court, Justice Clarence Thomas, has joined liberals in rejecting Allen’s silly ideas. In McIntyre v. Ohio, 514 U.S. 334 (1995) Justice Thomas traced and confirmed the long history of anonymous speech in American history. The Supreme Court has repeatedly adhered to McIntyre’s views, see e.g. Watchtower v. Stratton, 536 U.S. 150 (2002); Buckley v. American, 525 U. S. 182 (1999). So if the Supreme Court and justices both right and left have endorsed historical First Amendment protections for anonymous speech, what is Allen’s drivel doing in the Washington Post?
There is a two-fold agenda.
First, the Post is desperate to elect Obama. Every day that Barack Obama stumbles, flip-flops and passes off lies, distortions and misrepresentations as his political “philosophy,” liberals tremble that Obama will fumble and Republicans will snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in November. They rally do live in fear.
Second, the Post has a selfish commercial interest in trying to undermine political speech on the Internet. It was not too long ago that printed newspapers monopolized political speech and dictated the outcomes of elections. Internet speech has repeatedly exposed Obama’s lies, undermined his campaign and revealed the utter mendacity and corruption of the MSM. Who needs competition that that reveals your lies and undermines the credibility of your printed newspaper?
The Obama-is-a-Muslim issue is a classic example of MSM mendacity. The Muslim question is a peripheral matter. But peripheral matters do matter. Concealment of Obama’s childhood Muslim roots became part of his three ring circus of lies, damn lies and statistics. And his bogus rumor-fighting, “truth-telling” web sites. But it was precisely because the MSM tried desperately to cover up Obama’s Islamic family roots that the Muslim question propagated and mushroomed on the internet.
The MSM have met the enemy, and it is them. The harder the MSM’s fought to cover up the simple truths about Obama, by suppressing the facts, concocting complex lies and proffering prevarications, the harder the internet community fought back. In my case I relentlessly fought back. With the truth.
The Post doesn’t like me. That is why the paper devoted a full page to minimizing my writing and elevating Allen to the status of a competing “scholar,” when she is merely just another pampered blossom in the affirmative action hothouse. Allen is full of hot air. I cite Supreme Court case law to document my response to her silly proposal to censor the Internet. Which is more credible? Her hot air or my case law?
Where do we go from here? I urge readers to constantly be on the watch for hidden agendas. When people mysteriously surface out of nowhere, such as Danielle Allen in the Washington Post, ask why? When people such as Allen are promoted as experts in the MSM despite their obvious and complete lack of qualifications and experience, ask why? When Allen is portrayed as a “scholar” when in reality she is an Obama campaign operative, ask why? Ask yourself, why is the Post lying? Why is the Post trying to fool me?
And, finally, ask “What are they afraid of? The truth?”

Andy Martin creates a firestorm over mainstream media efforts to conceal Barack Obama's religious roots

Andy Martin's book goes from bestseller to blockbuster as left/right battle over Obama. Martin keeps publishing the truth about Obama, and the Washington Post gets caught deceiving its readers as to the provenance of so-called "political expert" Danielle Allen, who appears to be an Obama campaign operative. Martin calls his book a "take-it-to-the beach-and-enjoy" volume. "Obama: The Man Behind The Mask" goes on sale nationally within days.

AUTHOR ANDY MARTIN'S COLUMNS TRIGGER EMBARRASSMENT FOR WASHINGTON POST AND MAELSTROM OF RIGHT/LEFT CRITICISM

MARTIN'S NEW BOOK IS AT THE PRINTER AND WILL BE ON SALE NATIONALLY WITHIN DAYS.

"TIMING IS EVERYTHING," SAYS ANDY

(NEW YORK)(June 30, 2008) By the looks of it, we have created a firestorm across the Internet, and across the presidential campaign. What is a little amazing is that this mountain of controversy comes just as my new book "Obama: The Man Behind The Mask" goes on sale nationally. Timing is everything.

And, since people who have no particular desire to help sales of my book generate all of the publicity, it all leaves you believing in divine intervention. Nevertheless, "Obama: The Man Behind the Mask," already a bestseller, is now headed for blockbuster status.

What explains all of this continuing conflict over Senator Barack Obama's religious beliefs? There are a number of factors.

First, the liberal mainstream media establishment insists on blatantly deceiving readers and viewers. Matthew Mosk of the Washington Post wrote an article about my columns, but he put the picture of someone else, Danielle Allen, on the story. Mosk neglected to tell his readers that Allen was an Obama contributor who had been an Obama defender in print media for years; in all likelihood an Obama campaign operative. Readers were deceived into believing Mosk's fairy tale that Allen "woke up one morning" and decided to take up a spear for Obama. Mosk's basic story line was a blatant sham.

Once the Internet focused on the Post's reporting, Allen was humiliated, Mosk was disgraced, and the Post's reputation for fairness and balance was in tatters. Mosk's article boomeranged on the Obama campaign.

The only one left standing with an intact reputation was me.

Second, despite Obama's lies, he grew up in a Muslim family. I am not going to hyperlink every story that confirms that fact. It is a fact. It is useless and counterproductive for Obama to deny that fact. Why does he persist in lying? About his childhood, for God's sake? Obama is clearly in deep denial about his convoluted upbringing, unstable mother, scandalous father and hapless stepfather.

Third, childhood religious experiences matter. They matter a great deal. Obama admitted to a New York Times reporter in 2007 that Obama could still recite Muslin prayers in flawless Arabic. That learning did not come by accident or overnight. It came through relentless drilling in the Arabic language. (Whether we call it rote memorization or repetition, the effect is the same; the Islamic prayers were drilled into his brain. Just ask a Roman Catholic friend about similar "drilling.") I have also quoted the old Jesuit saw that says "If we have a boy until he is seven years old, we have him for life." The Muslim religion had Obama in various forms until he was around ten.

Important note: when Obama moved in with his grandparents, they made no effort to displace his Muslim heritage because they had no religious beliefs of their own to substitute. Since children don’t begin to develop reasoning powers until eight or nine, Obama's Muslim roots remained by default.

Fourth, journalistic integrity matters. When I first began writing about Obama's religious roots, conservatives were suspicious. I have differences of opinion with some conservatives on U. S. Middle East policy. "How," conservatives asked, "could someone such as Andy Martin, who is sympathetic to the Muslim point of view, be 'exposing' Barack Obama?" The reason I could write about Obama with a clear conscience is that I owe my only loyalty to the truth, and through the truth to my readers and listeners.

Yes, I do have sympathies, and I am honest and open about them. But I never let my personal views interfere with the facts. Although no one will ever thank me for it, I have probably screened out more anti-Obama trash than anyone else. If there is no truth behind the facts, I won’t get behind the story.

So, where do we stand on the eve of publication of my blockbuster book?

The book has large amounts of new commentary that have never appeared anywhere. Regular readers of my columns will want to obtain a copy to see how I analyze old issues and look to the future. There is also an anthology of collected columns to show how I kept digging relentlessly for the truth about Obama. The book is designed to be readable and accessible, a take-it-to-the beach-and-enjoy volume. I write for Hillary Clinton Democrats (those of media myth anyway) as well as country club Republicans. As we say in my own church, the Episcopal Church, "All are Welcome," to buy a copy of the book.

Second, the Washington Post's ombudsman Deborah Howell will face a firestorm when she returns. She is apparently on vacation. The Post handled the Andy Martin/Danielle Allen story very, very badly. Readers were at least misled and possibly deceived. Matt Mosk has egg on his face. (Interestingly, Mosk treated me fairly and accurately, so I have no personal beef with the WP.)

Third, Barack Obama's "Fightthesmears.com" shenanigans have exploded in his face. Again.

Fourth, I have become the conservative poster boy for self-identified "hard left" media loonies such as Christopher Hayes of "The Nation" and Ben Smith of Politico.com. They will stop at nothing to smear me with lies, damn lies and more lies. In fact, in order to placate the "hard left," I have had to invent the fantasy of ContrarianCommentary.com's massive underground command and control bunker in Midtown Manhattan, where I manipulate coverage of the 2008 presidential election. Keith Olbermann has a standing invitation to visit. I only ask that Mr. Hayes and the others who have made me a poster boy keep it clean. No Page Six stuff, Keith.

Finally, ContrarianCommentary.com and its related blogs remain America's #1 political blog on the 2008 presidential race because we are independent, impartial and honest. That is a lot more than I can say for Barack Obama and his sycophants in the mainstream media. You keep reading and I'll keep writing. As Sergeant Joe Friday would always intone, "Just the facts, ma'am."

Buy the book and take it to the beach. Whether you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent you can count on my facts and opinions to get your blood flowing. After forty years observing the sewers and cesspools of Illinois politics, I know Barack Obama. And he is Barack Obama. He's no John Kennedy. A tip of the hat to former Senator Lloyd Bentsen for that thought.

April: A Newsweek poll shows the Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy has no impact on public perceptions about Obama's religion. The portion of the voting population that believe he is Muslim remains 13 percent — and that belief is higher (16 percent) among those described as working class whites.
April 21: Obama tells The New York Times:
"It's not just that I'm a Christian and some of these emails are misinforming people. They're also feeding on anti-Muslim sentiment and that's also wrong."
June 12: The Obama campaign unveils a Web site called Fight the Smears to address the email rumors.

Andy Martin's response to the Washington Post article on Obama's Danielle Allen

Andy Martin follows up on the Obama campaign's latest dirty tricks and disinformation. Why did the Washington Post omit a crucial part of the story about an Obama campaign oppositional research operative? How did Matt Mosk of the Post encounter a hitherto unknown "razor sharp" Obama "supporter?" Is Obama abusing tax-exempt Princeton University facilities to conduct secret spying on Internet commentators?

Ms. Deborah Howell
Ombudsman
Washington Post

Re: Matt Mosk, "An Attack That Came Out of the Ether"

Dear Ms. Howell:

I would like to ask you to look into Mast Mosk's article "An Attack That Came Out of the Ether."

I am quoted in the article, extensively, and generally accurately. In so far as it applies to me, I have no problems with the story.

But the article itself has serious deficiencies. I will list just a couple:

1. In my news conference yesterday I raised the question of Ms. Allen using a tax-exempt facility to do partisan political research when she was presumably hired to pursue more meaningful activity at the Princeton IAS. Some of the many posts on your web site raised the same topic. Is Allen's "e-mail" project something Allen is claiming as an academic pursuit under the IAS? People would want to know. I am surprised that Mr. Mosk did not question why a tax-exempt facility is being used as a political opposition research operation, or whether Allen applied to be funded to pursue this activity.

2. Closely associated with the first question is the more critical question of how Mr. Mosk identified Ms. Allen to do a full-page article on an unknown person.

A simple Google search will confirm that Ms. Allen's name has never been liked to Obama politically; no one has ever suggested she is a "political expert" as we understand the term in common English. In short there was no public track for Mr. Mosk to pursue. So how did Mr. Mosk find Ms. Allen?

It appears that Mosk was steered to Allen by the Obama campaign. A reasonable journalist (and I am merely an author and opinion columnist, see ContrarianCommentary.blogspot.com and ContrarianCommentary.com) would ask, how did the Post learn about Allen and what does the Post know about what Allen has shared with the Obama campaign concerning her "research?" My news conference release from yesterday is posted on the net and you can see it for yourself. (A copy is available on request.)

In other words, the biggest part of the story, and part that would undermine Ms. Allen's independence and credibility as "razor sharp" and all of the other nonsensical adjectives that were applied to her, is that she is nothing more than an Obama campaign operative, albeit one violating federal tax laws by operating out of a tax-exempt operation. Ms. Allen did not just appear on Mosk's doorstep. The story of how he found this hitherto unknown "political" expert was an essential part of his story, and he completely omitted it. We expect partisans to be partisan; Mosk tried to suggest Allen just woke up one morning and spent the next year "researching" something, having no contact or coordination with the Obama campaign. That is simply not believable.

Since Mr. Mosk generally treated me fairly and accurately, I have no cavil with him. Nevertheless, I think he treated the Post's readers unfairly and cavalierly by not telling them the whole truth about Ms. Allen and how he came to encounter her. How he found her, when she had no public track record, is an obvious question of foundational interest to any reader. Clearly, the reasonable inference is that he was directed to her by the Obama campaign. That part of the story was essential to assessing and evaluating Allen's credibility and Mosk omitted those facts. I think a little "full disclosure" is due your readers, particularly inasmuch as for Saturday it became the most circulated article in the paper.

I know the Post strives for high standards; but high standards are meaningless if they are not accompanied by candor and full disclosure. The "how" of Mosk's encounter with Allen leaves a gaping whole in the "story."

Please feel free to contact me.

I hope the Post will not discriminate against my new book by refusing to review it because of my opposition to Mr. Obama and his fairy tales.

Best wishes,

OBAMA AUTHOR ANDY MARTIN RESPONDS TO WASHINGTON POST ARTICLE NAMING MARTIN AS THE SOURCE OF COMMENTS ABOUT OBAMA'S RELIGIOUS ROOTS

MARTIN ACCUSES WASHINGTON POST OF CREATING "MANCHURIAN SURROGATE" FOR OBAMA'S DISINFORMATION

MARTIN'S CONTROVERSIAL BEST SELLER ON OBAMA WILL BE AVAILABLE NATIONALLY WITHIN DAYS

WAS THE WASHINGTON POST DUPED BY THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN?

(NEW YORK)(June 28, 2008) Legendary Chicago Internet columnist and Obama author Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference Saturday, June 28th to respond to an article today in the Washington Post identifying him as the original source of information about Barack Obama's religion. Martin will also charge that far from being an innocent victim, Obama has been a perpetrator of the confusion over his religion and Obama is engaging in his own Internet terror tactics.

The Washington Post article is found at:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/27/AR2008062703781.html?hpid=topnews

Martin says the Washington Post article is accurate and factual as it applies to him, but that the Post story raises more questions than it answers.

"In so far as my contact with the Post," Martin will state, "Mr. Mosk accurately reports my role and, as far as I can remember, correctly reports our interview.

"But Mosk produced an incomplete form of journalism. He writes a long article about Danielle Allen, but she is a very suspicious character to say the least. Mosk uncritically swallows Allen's story.

"First, despite the fact that Allen claims to have conducted exhaustive research, she never contacted me. How could she claim to be conducting 'research' without contacting the putative source? Scholarly research would have mandated even a pro forma contact.

"Second, Ms. Allen has been using tax exempt facilities to conduct her political research. Once again, an Obama supporter is caught apparently violating the law.

"Third, although she is identified as a 'political expert' there is no indication that Allen has any experience in politics whatsoever. Perhaps that is why Allen's research was so amateurish and deficient. Her online resume shows no political background, unless she wants to count studying ancient Athens as a model for Obama's role in the Chicago Democratic Machine.

"Fourth, neither Mosk nor Allen disclose any contacts Allen had with the Obama campaign, perhaps because of the sensitivity of using tax exempt facilities to conduct political research for Obama's campaign. How could Mosk write an article and leave out a question about Allen's contact with Obama's campaign?

"Ms. Allen's role is left hanging. She literally appears out of thin air. She claims to have accumulated masses of information, done research, and yet had no visible impact on the campaign until Mosk identified her on June 28th. Very, very strange. What impact has she had to justify her sudden appearance in the Post?

"Perhaps she is Obama's new 'Manchurian Surrogate,' spoon feeding the mainstream media Obama's perverted and distorted version of the truth about his religious roots.

"How did Mosk find Allen if she had no public record of any involvement? Obviously he was steered to her by the Obama campaign, a fact Mosk neglects to disclose. I would suggest that if Mosk was steered to her by the Obama campaign Mr. Mosk needs to write a follow-up story and disclose his own research record; it raises serious suspicions.

"The article says Allen met Obama as a 'dean,' but Obama had stopped teaching at the law school by the time Allen became a dean somewhere else in the university. There is an inconsistency here.

"Obama's own evasion is the architect of his religious confusion; he is also the orchestrator of his own Internet terror tactics to silence the truth.

"First, the problem with Barack Obama is not that he is a radical Muslim; the Post correctly states that I have never made such an accusation, and thus the New York Times story falsely claiming I was 'debunked' is defamatory.

"The problem is that Obama wants the American people to elect him as a man of mystery, a stealth candidate. It is undeniable that at least until the age of ten, Obama was raised in a Muslim environment. Yet he has assiduously pretended these religious roots do not exist. He states 'I have always been a Christian' when that is an objective lie. Why lie about his childhood?

"Second, Obama has taken to terrorizing Muslims to expunge any depiction of their existence in his campaign. That's why his staff removed two veiled women from a campaign event. Obama has sought to blame lowly staff workers; he always blames his staff when he is caught acting abusively.

"Third, Obama is guilty of the same Internet terror tactics as his opponents. He harasses anyone who challenges his fairy tales. I have been repeatedly attacked by Obama minions, and I keep fighting back.

"But I keep the public up to date about the facts, see http://barackobamawasamuslim.blogspot.com/

"Now that the Post has reported the accuracy of my research, if not Allen's, I will increase the intensity of my attacks on Obama for his prevarication, distortion and disinformation.

"In conclusion, I thank the Post for correctly reporting my own role, and not stooping to the demagoguery of the New York Times. But, unfortunately, while reporting correctly on me, the Post has unveiled Obama's new 'Manchurian Surrogate' for the media, Danielle Allen, an Africa-American woman who appears to have been rolled out by his campaign to undermine truth-tellers about his religious roots. Allen is apparently using taxpayer subsidies to conduct Obama's political research. Ms. Allen has a lot of explaining to do.

"With all due respect to Mr. Mosk, how he found the
secretive Ms. Allen now becomes the story. Why she never surfaced until June 28th, and how she surfaced, and when, are equally unanswered questions. Has the Post been inadvertently duped? Was the Post knowingly used by the Obama campaign to propagate more religious disinformation?

"I would be remiss if I did not end with a plug for my new book, 'Obama: The Man Behind The Mask.' Guests on Sean Hannity have also started pilfering my book's imagery. The book has gone to the printer and will be available nationally within days. I detail my four years of very public research—unlike Allen's surreptitious claims to have researched Obama—to unmask the very secretive and evasive Mr. Obama.

"If I say so myself, my book is a great read and well worth the price. Internet buyers get priority, since we are already oversold for the first edition," Martin states. "And if anyone finds factual inaccuracies in my writing, just let me know and I will correct them. I have always aim to be scrupulously accurate and I have succeeded."

ANDY MARTIN'S NEW OBAMA BOOK IS SET TO BEGIN INTERNATIONAL MEDIA INTERVIEWS JUNE 19TH

ORDERS KEEP ROLLING IN FOR THE NEW BOOK BY CHICAGO EXPERT ANDY MARTIN WHICH PROMISES NEW INSIGHTS AND REVELATIONS ABOUT OBAMA

IS OBAMA'S "ANTI-SMEAR" OPERATION REALLY DIRECTED AT ANDY MARTIN?

(NEW YORK)(June 17, 2008) Obama: The Man Behind the Mask by legendary Chicago Internet columnist and Obama author Andy Martin is set to go global. Foreign media interviews begin on June 19th.

"Before we go on a national book tour there is going to be a gap while the book is actually being printed," Martin says. "We will be based in New York for maximum availability to national and international media.

"Ironically, Obama's 'FighttheSmears' operation has increased interest in my book: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/fightthesmearshome/

"I am known for being scrupulously accurate with my accusations. And I have something no other journalist in the world has: over forty years of experience in the sewers of Illinois and Chicago politics, able to interpret Obama from the inside. That is why I was the first person to get under his skin and start digging out the truth four years ago, when Obama was still a novelty on the national scene.

"There are indeed some exaggerations and excesses directed at Obama; but I am proud to say that none of them are mine. My reports and my analyses have proved completely accurate.

"In fact, Obama's 'Smears' operation actually seems directed at me; not because I publish 'smears,' but because I publish the truth. Obama wants to intimidate the mainstream media from reporting the truth about him, 'working the refs' as MSNBC's Keith Olbermann calls it, so media will not look to the Internet for accurate information and opinion. Obama is trying to discredit the entire Internet, while simultaneously using it to build his own campaign. He won’t succeed.

"There is room for debate and discussion on some aspects of Obama's life; but honest differences of opinion and honest efforts to dig for the truth are not smears. Missing birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce papers, school records, baptismal certificates, what's wrong with trying to obtain copies of the original documents instead of copies sanitized by his campaign? Any researcher worth his salt knows to seek out copies of original documents, and to cast a wide net in seeking information and records. Obama has been uncooperative and less than forthcoming, fueling the speculation and paranoia about his past.

"What Obama is trying to do is control the truth, and to mandate that Obama's version of the 'truth' is the only truth. Christians have been trying to agree on the 'truth' for two thousands years, and they haven’t yet succeeded. Obama won’t either.

"Obama has been trying to airbrush reality his entire life, first to suit himself and not to fit his national ambitions. But his fantasies and delusions are far removed from objective truth. In fact, there are so many lies about Obama floating around precisely because he is a habitual liar himself. His method of massaging facts into fiction to serve his own interests creates its own backlash. His own evasions and prevarications fuel the opposition. The way he engaged in a serial 'modified limited hangout' about his close relationship with Tony Rezko, going through version after version of 'full' disclosure, shows how he is his own worst enemy.

"I read the snippets he posted on his 'Smear' site and, aside from the one 'smear' that he says does not exist (I am rereading his books again to check for myself), the 'smears' that he documents result from differing interpretations of his own somewhat convoluted and often opaque language. He can’t brand everything he disagrees with a 'smear' just because the prose in his books is dense enough to allow for differences of opinion.

"And so, I am left with the big question: whose brilliant idea inside Obama's campaign was it to create this self-defeating and self-destructive anti-smear site? It is going to have precisely the opposite impact from what was intended.

"In the meantime, my book will offer a unique insight into Obama and the cesspool of Illinois politics where he first learned to swim.

"Obama's mud merchants have been smearing me with all sorts of lurid accusations. I have been accused of being the mastermind of a 'right-wing smear machine' and other equally outlandish charges, none of which are true. All are welcome to visit the secret bunker underneath Midtown Manhattan where we control the world."

Andy Martin says Barack Obama is lying about Obama's childhood ties to Islam

Andy Martin says Barack Obama's "Fight the Smears" web site is an attempt to propagate smears and disinformation. Martin relies on an Obama interview with Nick Kristof of the New York Times to confirm that Obama was a Muslim up to the age of 10.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW YORK NEWS CONFERENCE JUNE 16, 2008

OBAMA AUTHOR ANDY MARTIN ACCUSES BARACK OBAMA OF "SMEARING THE TRUTH" ABOUT OBAMA'S CHILDHOOD RELIGION

MARTIN CHALLENGES OBAMA TO SUE MARTIN FOR DEFAMATION ON "MUSLIM" ISSUE

ANDY SAYS OBAMA IS BLATANTLY LYING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

(NEW YORK)(June 16, 2008) Legendary Chicago Internet columnist and Obama author Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference Monday, June 16th to charge that Barack Obama is "smearing the truth" about Obama's childhood religion. Martin will challenge Obama to sue Martin for defamation.

Martin's book, Obama: The Man Behind the Mask, is now in pre-publication sales and goes to the printer June 18th. See http://orangestatepress.com.

Martin is universally credited with first exposing Obama's Muslim heritage in 2004. Andy has been attacked as the mastermind of a vast "right-wing smear machine," a charge he vehemently denies and for which there is no proof.

"Barry Obama flatly denies that he was ever a Muslim," Martin will state. That is simply not true."

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/fightthesmearshome/

"I challenge Senator Obama to sue me for defamation if he truly wants to perpetuate the myth that he had no ties to the Muslim religion. I will waive all of the traditional First Amendment defenses ("Public figure," "actual malice," etc.) and will interpose only one defense in support of my claims: truth," Martin will state at his news conference.

Martin, a former CUNY adjunct professor of law, says Obama is lying to the American people. "Obama has concocted this 'Fight the Smears' web site to propagate propaganda and false information. It is one of the most cynical ploys in American political history.

"Frankly, in opposition to every mainstream media, I think the 'Smears' site will prove to be a disaster for Obama.

"Already an Israeli internet magazine has produced a purported article—which I have been unable to verify at the Jerusalem Post—claiming that Obama's brother says his brother was a Muslim and that Obama comes from a Muslim family:

Malik Obama confirms his half-brother Barack grew up a Muslim
http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/12918.htm

Is Barack Obama a Muslim wolf in Christian wool?
http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/12745.htm

"But an earlier article by the highly-respected New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof says more to me and, I believe, most common sense, clear-thinking adults: Obama admitted to Kristof that Obama was in 'Koran study classes.' More critically, forty years later, i.e. almost forty years after leaving Jakarta, 'Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent.'
http://select.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

"Where did Mr. Obama learn to pray in Arabic, and develop a 'first rate [Arabic] accent?' At the Nation of Islam in Chicago? Or in Jakarta where he was a Muslim student for sure?

"I am reminded that some Jesuit Catholic priests say 'give us a boy until he is 7, and we have him for life.' http://forum.catholic.org/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=35646&sid=a7f55a506c1b8be8a8500d510a809153

"Forty years later, Obama retained a 'first-rate accent' in Arabic and could recite a Muslim prayer. They had some pretty good religious teachers in Jakarta. And Obama was not a Muslim during his childhood? The Muslims had Obama until he was 9 or 10. They beat the Catholic test.

"Once more I want to stress two principles that I have stated so often:

"First, I do not question that Obama is a Christian today. But Obama has always tried to obscure his childhood religion by thumping his chest about his current religion. Christianity is an open religion, he was free to join, and he did. I have always accepted that principle.

"Second the issue is not whether Obama was a Muslim until he left Jakarta around the age of 10. The evidence is overwhelming that he was; that evidence was best extracted by Nick Kristof.

"The issue is that Obama blatantly lies and tries to reinvent his past, because he is afraid of retaliation for his childhood religion. I think he would get more votes if he told the truth, certainly more than he is going to lose by telling a lie. Muslims vote too. The issue, therefore, is not 'religion' in fact, but his relentless pursuit of propaganda and disinformation to obscure what that religion was up to the age of 10.

"Obama was never much of a lawyer, and he never tried a lawsuit in court, but even from his Harvard student books he should have learned that dissembling and evasion are crucial to credibility. When Obama lies about the truth, the fact that he is willing to lie is a critical aspect of his character.

"Obama's entire 'Fight the Smears' web site is itself a smear of Islam, and a smear of the truth. Obama uses his 'defense' of smears to propagate smears, and to produce relentless lies and disinformation. It is on that basis that I challenge him and his fitness to sit in the Oval Office.

"I also challenge Obama to sue me for defamation concerning my claims about his religion. The only defense I will offer is 'truth.' I don’t care what religion his mom and dad and step dad chose for him; I do care that he lies about those objective truths and facts, and continues to do so brazenly and blatantly. No one can read Kristof's 2007 column and come away believing Obama's lies. He studied the Koran, and he still speaks Koranic Arabic with a 'first-rate accent.' How many non-Muslims can recite Islamic prayers the way Obama can?

"Contrary to what Obama claims, this Internet author is
propagating the truth about Obama's religious past, not 'smears' and not 'lies.' I have no interest in publishing false information. Obama is the liar, plain and simple. Stop it Barry. Or sue me."
